Vogart transfer pattern 140 (reissued as 658)
Alphabets and novelty frames
General information
- What's on the hot iron transfer sheet:
(Note: we do not have a complete example.) One sheet marked 140-A which has two identical panels -- each with 4 different alphabets and 3 novelty frames.
Another sheet marked 140 which has 2 (or more) larger alphabets plus a Mr./Mrs. motif. The monogram frames are shown on the envelope -- the palette and
brushes (far right) the trio of cherries (near center) and a floral frame (bottom left).
- Techniques used:
Basic embroidery stitches (outline, satin, lazy daisy, french knot). Large and small alphabets in stamped cross stitch.
- Uses and options:
Anywhere you want a monogram! The palette and cherries are about 3 inches and would be a nice touch for aprons or smocks.
- Special notes:
This transfer was also issued under the American Thread logo. We have a very early Vogart issue, which has dark orange rather than blue ink.
Each panel of the 140-A sheet has a two trial motifs -- one of the the letters AB inside concentric circles, and one of the letter W over a swoosh and stars.
