Vogart/American Thread transfer pattern 138
Pin up girls/Gay 90s misses
General information
- What's on the hot iron transfer sheet:
Four pin up girl motifs; four gay nineties misses; plus 11 lettered guest slogans. The motifs may be worked entirely in embroidery, but the sheet also includes
applique pieces if you want to make them as shown on the envelope. There's an applique piece for each pin-up girl's bras and panties, plus the cushions,
the hairbrush back, and the powder puff handle. Gay 90s misses have applique pieces for their skirts and bodices.
- Techniques used:
Basic embroidery stitches (outline, satin, lazy daisy, french knot). Applique is optional.
- Uses and options:
Figures are about 7 inches high and -- naturally -- intended to decorate hand towels for guests. The envelope suggests using the designs (without the lettering)
for lingerie cases or amusing pictures. The gay nineties ladies would also work well for kitchen towels.
- Special notes:
This transfer was also issued under the American Thread logo.
The sheet has two trial motifs -- one a woman's face the same size and similar in looks to the pin-up girls; the other a small, simple figure of a woman in an apron.
- Other descriptive terms:
glamour girls, housewife, housewives
