Vogart transfer pattern 105 (reissued as 235 and 691)
Little Susan DOW motifs
General information
- What's on the hot iron transfer sheet:
Seven different motifs showing Little Susan doing the daily chore; lettering for the seven weekdays; a unique and larger Sue motif (with a tea kettle) for an apron;
plus four motifs for pot holders (butterfly, tea cup, dog and floral spray). Sue's dog appears in four of the daily motifs.
- Techniques used:
Basic embroidery stitches (outline, satin, lazy daisy, french knot).
- Uses and options:
Days of the week designs are traditionally used on tea towels, with matching apron and pot holders for a complete kitchen set.
Given the popularity of Sunbonnet Sue quilts, it's not surprising that the envelope text recommends using the designs for a quilt. The extra details in each
motif (framed pictures, flowers, etc.) also make these good candidates for framed pictures.
- Special notes:
This transfer was also issued under the American Thread logo.
The sheet has two trial motifs, both of which are a simple flower.
- Other descriptive terms:
belles, scottie dog
