Vintage coat patterns show up in many guises.

Patterns strictly for coats, like the ones on this page, are usually cut for heavier fabrics such as wool, velveteen, fleece (and our favorite, poodlecloth) -- and meant to be lined. But don't overlook dress patterns as a possible source. It's not unusual to find patterns that team a great dress with a coordinating coat, and it's often your best best to find that perfect bolero.
